I heard my name announced one last time as a undergrad band brat! I heard Matt say my name and announce me as the Panther Marching Band Feature Twirler one last time and it wasn't until I stood on the field next to my family did I shed my first tear of many that these wonderful PMB memories were coming to a close.
I have been twirling since I was 5 years old. I started at the Lisle Park District, Then joined my first team, The Silver Knights when I was 7. In 2006, I was entering 6th grade and had already won a national championship title and became the feature twirler for the Bolingbrook Brooks Middle School Bulldog Marching Band! Shortly thereafter, I started twirling with the Westernettes where I earned consecutive Gold medals at Jr. Olympics. No greater accomplishment had come to me in my twirling career and then in 2009 I stepped onto the field with my home town Marching Raiders and won the Intermediate Miss Majorette of Illinois title.
Being selected to be the feature twirler of the EIU Panther Marching Band was the greatest honor of all. This time has been the greatest of all and has been so rewarding. I will treasure the memories of every home game, every performance and every opportunity I had to bow in the presence of so many at O'Brien Field. My home away from home.
